Calgary, AB – The Calgary Flames announced today they have traded goaltender Henrik Karlsson to the Chicago Blackhawks in exchange for a 7th round pick in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft.
The 7th round pick was originally the Ottawa Senators, previously acquired by the Blackhawks.
Calgary, AB – Calgary Flames General Manager Darryl Sutter announced today the acquisition of defenseman Aaron Johnson from the Chicago Blackhawks in exchange for forward Kyle Greentree.
Johnson, a native of Nova Scotia, has 184 games of NHL experience between Columbus, NY Islanders and Chicago. In 38 games with the Blackhawks last season, Johnson recorded 8 points and 33 penalty minutes.
The Chicago Blackhawks have named Kevin Cheveldayoff Assistant General Manager.

The Chicago Blackhawks have signed right wing Danny Bois to a one-year contract.
Bois, 26, ranked third on the American Hockey League’s Binghamton Senators with 149 penalty minutes while collecting 12 goals and 24 points in 66 regular-season games. The Thunder Bay, Ontario, native appeared in one National Hockey League contest with the Ottawa Senators in 2006-07, accruing seven penalty minutes.
The Colorado Avalanche’s second choice, 97th overall, in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft, Bois has racked up 968 penalty minutes and 113 points (54G, 59A) in 336 career AHL regular-season games spanning parts of five seasons (2004-09). He registered professional career highs in goals (18), assists (17), points (35) and games played (79) in 2005-06 with Binghamton.
COLUMBUS, OHIO – The Columbus Blue Jackets have acquired left wing Mike Blunden from the Chicago Blackhawks in exchange for right wing Adam Pineault, club General Manager Scott Howson announced today. Blunden was assigned to the club’s American Hockey League affiliate, the Syracuse Crunch.
Blunden, 22, has collected three goals and seven assists for 10 points and 42 penalty minutes in 37 games with the Rockford IceHogs (AHL) this season. In 139 career AHL games, he has tallied 24-38-62, 142 penalty minutes and a cumulative plus/minus rating of +14, including a career high 16-21-37 in 74 games last season.
Chicago’s second pick, 43rd overall, in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft, he has appeared in 10 games with the Blackhawks and registered 10 penalty minutes. He made his NHL debut against the Vancouver Canucks on October 25, 2006. Prior to his professional career, the Bowmanville, Ontario native played for four seasons with the Ontario Hockey League’s Erie Otters. He notched 100-81-181 and 246 penalty minutes in 236 career games with the club. He was selected to the OHL All-Star Team in 2005-06 and was selected to play in the CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game in 2004-05. As a teammate of Blue Jackets defensemen Kris Russell, he helped Team Canada win the gold medal at the 2006 World Junior Championships.
The Chicago Blackhawks have recalled left wing Pascal Pelletier (5-11, 191) from the American Hockey League’s Rockford IceHogs and have placed right wing Adam Burish on Injured Reserve. In addition, the Blackhawks have acquired defenseman Jimmy Sharrow (6-2, 198) from the Vancouver Canucks in exchange for a conditional draft choice and have assigned him to Rockford.
Pelletier, 25, leads Rockford with 13 goals – which includes seven in his last six contests – and ranks second with 21 points in 23 games this season. He shares third in the AHL with a team-high seven power-play markers. Pelletier was acquired by the Blackhawks from the Boston Bruins in exchange for center Martin St. Pierre on July 24, 2008.

It included Blackhawks Hall of Famers Bobby Hull, Stan Mikita and Tony Esposito, along with General Manager Dale Tallon and current players Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews, while Blackhawks and National Television Analyst Eddie Olczyk served as honorary chairman.
For the second consecutive year, both current Blackhawks players and alumni will be in attendance throughout the weekend of the fan convention, which will include autograph and photo sessions; Q&A session; exhibits and interactive games and much more.
