Report: Sabres “Really Eager” To Move Stewart

It's been no secret for the past few months that the Sabres have been shopping forward Chris Stewart.

Apparently, talks are starting to heat up.

Hockey insider Pierre Lebrun told TSN 1040 in Vancouver today that Buffalo is looking to part ways with Stewart and aren't necessarily interested in waiting until the trade deadline to do so.

"You know that he’s a UFA and I think GM Tim Murray would like to sort of go to the next level with a number of teams that have phoned on him and to get something done sooner rather than later," Lebrun said.  Boston and Ottawa, among other teams, have shown interest.

Stewart, who has only 3 goals and is a minus-11 in 27 games this season, has had his ice time reduced in recent games by Ted Nolan.
