Detroit, MI... The Detroit Red Wings today agreed to terms with right wing Anthony Mantha on a three-year entry-level contract. In accordance with club policy, additional details will not be disclosed.
Mantha, 19, was selected by Detroit this past June in the first round (20th overall) of the 2013 NHL Entry Draft. The 6-foot-5, 204-pound forward has gotten off to a fast start this season with the Val d’Or Foreurs, leading the QMJHL with 23 points (13-10-23) in only eight contests. Last season, he was the league’s only 50-goal scorer, tallying 89 points (50-39-89) in 67 games and ranking 10th overall in scoring. He also added 12 points (5-7-12) in nine postseason contests. A native of Longueuil, Quebec, Mantha has compiled 158 points (83-75-158) in 139 major junior games

About The Malik Report
The Malik Report is a destination for all things Red Wings-related. I offer biased, perhaps unprofessional-at-times and verbose coverage of my favorite team, their prospects and developmental affiliates. I've joined the Kukla's Korner family with five years of blogging under my belt, and I hope you'll find almost everything you need to follow your Red Wings at a place where all opinions are created equal and we're all friends, talking about hockey and the team we love to follow.
