Weiss Skates On Home Ice Tonight

from Ansar Khan of Mlive,

Stephen Weiss will be centering the top line tonight as the Detroit Red Wings make their home preseason debut against the Boston Bruins (7 p.m., no TV).

It'll be Weiss' first game (exhibition) at Joe Louis Arena as a Red Wing. He'll be flanked by Johan Franzen, who is making his preseason debut after missing a couple of games due to a hip flexor, and Daniel Cleary.

Daniel Alfredsson, who started training camp on the second line with Weiss and Franzen, remains idled with a sore groin.

“It's always special to play here as a visiting team,'' Weiss said. “To do it with a Red Wings jersey on is going to be even more special. I'm really looking forward to it. Got the butterflies going this morning when I woke up.''

continued inlcudes expected lineup...

There is not TV or radio coverage from the Bruins, so Ken Kal (1270am) is your only choice tonight to catch the game.

About The Malik Report

The Malik Report is a destination for all things Red Wings-related. I offer biased, perhaps unprofessional-at-times and verbose coverage of my favorite team, their prospects and developmental affiliates. I've joined the Kukla's Korner family with five years of blogging under my belt, and I hope you'll find almost everything you need to follow your Red Wings at a place where all opinions are created equal and we're all friends, talking about hockey and the team we love to follow.
