The Malik Report

We need more stunt fish. Roger, Traverse City, the stunt fish are gone.

I am not an avid fisherperson, but I come from a family of very avid fishermen and fisherwomen, including those who tie their own flies, can tell you what kind of waders to wear, who can tell you why Ernest Hemmingway was lying when he wrote about the "Big Two-Hearted River" (it was the West Branch of the Fox River and the Sucker River instead), and who go ga-ga over carbon fiber fishing rods and Cabela's catalogs the way I get googley-eyed when I enter Perani's.

As such, Pavel Datsyuk's fish tales from Thursday were one thing...But on Friday, he had competition, and that yielded enough fish that I believe there's a restraining order out against the Inuk and the Russian who stole Grandpa Donny from the trout stream:

Please don't tell these guys about the fact that there are rare sturgeon licenses available to fish in the Detroit River now that there are spawning areas near Belle Isle...

Pure awesome. I grew up with an avid outdoorsman of a father and can’t thank him enough for all of the great memories that has given me. I don’t fish nearly as much as I used to, but I spend a lot of time in the woods.

About The Malik Report

The Malik Report is a destination for all things Red Wings-related. I offer biased, perhaps unprofessional-at-times and verbose coverage of my favorite team, their prospects and developmental affiliates. I've joined the Kukla's Korner family with five years of blogging under my belt, and I hope you'll find almost everything you need to follow your Red Wings at a place where all opinions are created equal and we're all friends, talking about hockey and the team we love to follow.
