After a miserable Tuesday, a day when it sank in that he’d be moving to Philadelphia for three years while his wife and two daughters would stay in Detroit, Cleary reached out to Holland and Babcock, arranging a meeting.

“Mike and I met with Dan,” Holland said. “We’ll see what happens in the next 24 hours.”

Maybe I have seen to many mob movies, but I now expect to hear that Emmerton/Tootoo/Eaves have turned up missing and later we find out their bodies were found in shallow graves in Newfoundland.

Khan of Mlive,

“He wants to be a Red Wing, he loves the Red Wings,’’ Holland said. “He knows the coach, he knows his role, he’s got teammates in there, he’s made a home in Detroit. He’s been here since ‘05.

“At the end, we got challenges. We’ve talked about some different things.’‘

He added, “I think he wants to bring this to closure. I think he wants to get into a camp. I would anticipate the next day or to something coming.’‘

About The Malik Report

The Malik Report is a destination for all things Red Wings-related. I offer biased, perhaps unprofessional-at-times and verbose coverage of my favorite team, their prospects and developmental affiliates. I've joined the Kukla's Korner family with five years of blogging under my belt, and I hope you'll find almost everything you need to follow your Red Wings at a place where all opinions are created equal and we're all friends, talking about hockey and the team we love to follow.
