That’s a funny looking 4th line

Dekeyser skating as 4th line forward. I don’t know what’s funnier:

1) Kenny effed up the cap so bad that we don’t even have a full 23-man roster to adapt to injuries to 2 forwards?

2) Dekesyer might actually be an upgrade to the usual 4th line trash we trot out.

I want an all-West Michigan line with Abby, Glenny, and Witkowski. Just for the novelty.

Helene St. James of the Detroit Free Press,

Forward Martin Frk left Tuesday’s practice minutes after it started. Frk has had a bit of nagging groin pain, and Blashill said “it could be a week.”...

Forward Darren Helm missed a second straight practice and is considered probable for the Calgary game. Blashill said Helm was injured Saturday and that “I’m hoping it’s just a bruise. Pain tolerance kind of thing.”

General manager Ken Holland told the Free Press there were no plans to call up anybody from Grand Rapids, as the Wings have David Booth and Luke Witkowski in reserve. Holland said the Wings will only call up somebody if they fall below 20 skaters.

Great philosophy. Should have kept it a secret so all of the other inferior organizations don’t copy our brilliant approach to cap ad roster management. Can’t wait for the day when a guy tweaks a groin in warmups, or starts puking his guts out. Oh well, we’ll just play with 19 guys then. No big deal.

hah ahah ahaha!

DK on the 4th line. He can’t even “walk a line” how can we expect him to be any kind of an upgrade at forward?

It’s time to resurrect a zombi-fied Danny Cleary.

ahhhhh…...Dahlin. yummmmm…...

It’s not like 50% of the Wing’s games are a mere 2 hour drive away or like a 30 minute flight on a private jet.

Cool. Booth is getting to play with some “skilled” players. I bet he returns to his 2008 badass self.

Whoever drafts Svech this June, can we then immediately fool them into overpaying to acquire his brother from us? Because Evgeny is looking more and more like a bust to me. Quite a number of guys drafted AFTER him are already making an NHL impact, whereas he seems to be struggling to even make an impact in Grand Rapids. His puck skills are great, but his skating was a drawback on draft day, and remains a problem today. I fear we’ve got Jurco 2.0 on our hands. You don’t have the luxury to sit back and be patient with every single prospect in your organization…sometimes you need to make quicker conclusions and make a move now to get fair value.

In DRW language that usually means 2-3 weeks:(

In case anyone was wondering what the scouting pros think of Svech…and his skating….

http://www.eliteprospects.com/player.php?player=168679
“Incredibly skilled offensive winger. Has a remarkably accurate shot to go along with some magic hands. Could be better defensively, but his game is based around his acute sense of what is happening on the ice in the offensive zone. All-in-all, a deadly player who possesses good size, elite-level skill, and smooth skating. (Curtis Joe, EP 2014) “

http://www.dobberprospects.com/evgeny-svechnikov/
“He skates well for his size but isn’t likely to blow by defenders.”

http://www.hockeysfuture.com/prospects/evgeny-svechnikov/
“He’s a strong skater ...”

The thing I remember about Svech last season with GR was he started slow and then picked up as the season went on. He might just be a slow starter so I wouldn’t be too quick to assess him this season. He’s only played 11 games this season. That’s a pretty small sample size to bust him just yet.

Let’s keep it all in perspective because when looking at the 2015 draft there are numerous guys making an impact in the NHL after Conner McGod.

DDK on the 4th line is pretty simple. Helm and Frk havent ended up on short term IR yet, thus there isnt roster space for an extra player. They might not even need short term IR. Frk was supposed to practice but left early.

Stop. Think. Breathe in some oxygen, folks. This is not somehow a show a Kenny’s incompetence. Not everything is. Same for Blash. lol

The incompetence is not having enough cap space to carry 23 players. Find me another organization that botched the cap this badly. But I guess you have much lower standards than other fans…

Going through this again - why wasnt Witkowski on the forwards lines instead of DDK? We have a full roster (23) and all of our d-men skating. Weird.
