‘Three Things’: Halloween costumes, a charitable note and leadership talk

Of Red Wings and spooooooky-related note (so I'm late, here's some candy):

1. In the humorous and humerus vein, Michigan Hockey collected and compiled the internet's best hockey costumes, focusing on those with Michigan ties, and there are some "beauties" in here...and some disturbing images...

2. I would feel bad if I didn't plug this. The Wings' auction of their Hockey Fights Cancer night warm-up jerseys and sticks is still on, and the prices of the items are really reasonable by memorabilia standards, especially given that it's for charity:

3. And in more serious news, the Macomb Daily's Chuck Pleiness sets the stage for today's practice and the quotes we're going to hear afterward by looking back at the Wings' comments from Sunday's loss to Florida:

“I have 100 percent belief in the group in this locker room, so I’m not concerned long-term at all,” [Jeff] Blashill said. “I don’t have any worries about the level of leadership or the level of character that we have to a man in this locker room.”

Danny DeKeyser called into question that Wings’ energy level at the start of games, along with transitioning the puck and turnovers.

“Leadership is important, but at the end of the day everyone is here in the NHL and they need to do whatever they need to do to get going and ready to play,” DeKeyser said. “I wouldn’t put much up on the captaincy or leadership, just guys doing what they need to do to be ready to go.”

Detroit also hasn’t scored an even-strength goal in the last three games and have just three total all season.

“If they don’t have those two early goals it’s more of a game,” Dylan Larkin said. Florida jumped out in front 2-0 on a pair of goals just 23 seconds apart. “I look at myself, I’m not pointing fingers at all, I was out there for one of the goals so you got to take ownership.”
