The fourth annual Bob Probert Ride took place on Sunday, and the Blackburn News's Ricardo Veneza reports that all went well:
“Don’t get it wrong, it was Proby’s [Bob Probert] tears early on because he couldn’t be here, then he opened it up for us,” says Darren McCarty, the former Detroit Red Wings enforcer and friend of the late Bob Probert commenting on the beautiful weather riders enjoyed after an early morning worry rain may be in the forecast.
“Great love in this area, not only for Proby [Probert], but the family and for a great cause,” says McCarty. “You put that together with a great day and everybody loves the ride.”
McCarty called the day “picture perfect” as he took part in his first ride as part of the event raising money for cardiac care in Windsor-Essex in honour of Probert.
Unofficial fundraising totals show the 4th annual event has raised at least $80,000. The first three editions of the event raised a total of more than $260,000.
The Windsor Star posted a photo gallery from the event--the "ride captain" for this year's event was actress Jacqueline MacInnes Wood--the CTV News Windsor posted a 2-and-a-half minute video report, and if you missed it, the Windsor Star's Bob Duff had a great chat with Brogan and Tierney Probert, Bob's daughters.

About The Malik Report
The Malik Report is a destination for all things Red Wings-related. I offer biased, perhaps unprofessional-at-times and verbose coverage of my favorite team, their prospects and developmental affiliates. I've joined the Kukla's Korner family with five years of blogging under my belt, and I hope you'll find almost everything you need to follow your Red Wings at a place where all opinions are created equal and we're all friends, talking about hockey and the team we love to follow.
