Sergei Fedorov officially signs with CSKA Moscow

Former Red Wing Sergei Fedorov has signed a remainder-of-the-year contract with CSKA Moscow, playing for what Sovetsky Sport reports is a league-minimum 3 million rubles ($92,650), and the 43-year-old center will begin his comeback soon.

He told Championat's Maria Rogovskaya that he's feeling healthy and hale despite having battled back issues in the past, but he does not anticipate playing tomorrow against Metallurg Magnitogorsk;

And Sports.ru reports that Fedorov will platoon his managerial duties between Ildar Muhometov, Alexander Kharlamov and Almaz Garifullin.

Update (and the KHL's English-language website is confirming): per Yahoo Sports' Dmitry Chesnokov:

About The Malik Report

The Malik Report is a destination for all things Red Wings-related. I offer biased, perhaps unprofessional-at-times and verbose coverage of my favorite team, their prospects and developmental affiliates. I've joined the Kukla's Korner family with five years of blogging under my belt, and I hope you'll find almost everything you need to follow your Red Wings at a place where all opinions are created equal and we're all friends, talking about hockey and the team we love to follow.
