Roster Moves By The Wings Today

Detroit, MI... The Detroit Red Wings today assigned forwards Mitch Callahan, Luke Glendening, Calle Jarnkrok, Tomas Jurco, Teemu Pulkkinen and Riley Sheahan; defensemen Adam Almquist, Xavier Ouellet and Ryan Sproul; and goaltender Jared Coreau to the AHL’s Grand Rapids Griffins. Additionally, the team released forward Jeff Hoggan and defenseman Nathan Paetsch from their professional tryouts and placed forwards Willie Coetzee and Landon Ferraro and defenseman Nick Jensen on injured reserve.

The Red Wings’ roster currently stands at 27 players, as the team heads into their regular season home opener on Wednesday, Oct. 2, at 8 p.m. against the Buffalo Sabres.

Players on injured reserve do not count towards Detroit’s active roster

Tampa Bay sent Drouin back to juniors, which seems to have shocked many people.

I looked at TB’s depth chart and it’s… lacking at LW IMHO.  C and RW seem reasonable I guess.

Tampa needs a forward (maybe).  DET has too many forwards.  Hmmmmmm… you do the math on what I’m suggesting.

Sign a Flip, get a Sammy for free?

I don’t think that helps us get Steve to come to the Alumni games this New Years.
