No Jurco as well? Lame.
Dont understand not bringing up a scoring threat as well.

Is Marchenko being sent down now as well?

Immediately what I thought.  Wings are probably anticipating a suspension from Shanny.

Jurco is in GR Holland and playing on his Olympic Hockey Team… So frustrating

yea @wingerRider, that makes zero sense. Zero.
But hey, buckets and bert and sammy are all contributing.

Been liking the way Miller and Eaves have been playing, just need some goals from them, or the stopping of goals. One or the other.

If there was any doubt, calling up Sheahan tells me Datsyuk won’t be ready.

I realize there are cap issues, etc but none would be picked up on waivers and maybe 1 or 2 others

Playoffs will be a problem this year even in the East

So presuming Sheahan centers the second line and then what:  Abber centers the third and Glendening or Andersson centers the fourth?

So Jurco is good enough to make his NATIONAL TEAM for the OLYMPICS, yet he can’t even break the Detroit Red Wing roster, a team that is in 8th position in the East? What a joke this is. But yeah, let’s keep playing Cleary, Bert, Sammy because they’re really contributing. Ken Holland and Mike Babcock are delusional drug addicts. What a friggin’ joke.

I didn’t watch last night. What center is out of the lineup from the last game? Or in general, who isn’t going to play?

Im a Jurco fan but y’all need to cool your jets the 3rd and 4th lines of the Slovak team dont have a single current NHL player on them and hes projected to play on the 4th lline. To give you some context Kopecky is their 2nd line center.

Interesting call up. Last night at one point Nyquist was pulled from the top line and replaced by Abdelkader. That means they were short a center. Maybe Gus re injured his groin.

Maybe Cleary will be getting an in person hearing. Or could it be that Glendening got hurt? He took a huge hit from Hayes.

Anyway I like Sheahan’s size. They’ll need it against the Kings.

Minus Datsyuk, Helm and now-center Franzen, the Wings had Abdelkader playing center, and the team rather desperately needs a 3rd liner who can stabilize the ship. It’s Sheahan’s turn.

via St. James/Freep,

The Wings lost, 4-1, on Thursday at San Jose. They were without Pavel Datsyuk and Darren Helm, both of whom are fighting groin injuries, and Johan Franzen, who has only just begun practicing after suffering a concussion Dec. 16.

It’s possible one, two or all three might play Saturday at Los Angeles or Sunday at Anaheim, but if not, there’s Sheahan. The Wings barely fielded more than one scoring line at San Jose, thanks to a dearth of centers. Coach Mike Babcock used Justin Abdelkader as a center, but he’s much better suited to playing on the wing.

The Wings don’t anticipate having a definite handle on who might be available for the Kings game until after the morning skate.

Thanks for that moment of sanity.

How is Helm still hurt? Like how is that possible? I’ve never heard of a Red Wing that is more injury prone. He’s like the Derrick Rose of the NHL.
