Red Wings goalie Jimmy Howard wasn’t amused by Alex Burrows’ antics

When the Vancouver Canucks snapped the Detroit Red Wings’ 23-game home-ice winning streak, Alexandre Burrows celebrated his shootout winner in rather demonstrative fashion…
And, in a late-breaking notebook, Fox Sports Detroit’s Art Regner reports that Jimmy Howard was not particularly amused by what Burrows did:
“I don’t even pay attention,” Howard said of the Canucks. “They’ve got a bunch of idiots over there. There are only several good guys on that team, and they know who they are.”
The Canucks are a very cocky team, but even as a Wings fan, I can’t say that the Canucks did anything less than back up their boast that they would be the ones to finally defeat the Wings at the Joe, and to some extent…I think Burrows earned the right to do whatever the hell he wanted after scoring the game-winner.

About The Malik Report
The Malik Report is a destination for all things Red Wings-related. I offer biased, perhaps unprofessional-at-times and verbose coverage of my favorite team, their prospects and developmental affiliates. I've joined the Kukla's Korner family with five years of blogging under my belt, and I hope you'll find almost everything you need to follow your Red Wings at a place where all opinions are created equal and we're all friends, talking about hockey and the team we love to follow.
So if Howard doesnt pay attention like he said, why is he crying and complaining. I guess he was/is paying attention.
The celebration was no more than most players do when they score or make a save that is important to them and/or their team. The only reason this is even getting any special notice is because of the streak that was stopped and that the Canucks jumped ahead of them in the standings.
