Update: I'm not allowed to tell you what I think about this quip from the Free Press:

“We can’t wait for this new season in the Eastern Conference to get started,” said Greg Hammaren, Senior Vice President/General Manager of FOX Sports Detroit. “Fans are going to love the new mix of great opponents and earlier start times. Our commitment and passion for the Wings is greater than ever and can’t wait to share some of the best coverage in the NHL with the fans.”

The Detroit News also noted that 12 games will air on FSD Plus--possibly--because Fox Sports Detroit claims that 11 games will air on FSD+.

If ??

Baaaahahaha .. that’s funny.

Opening game of the season is NBCSN and no local coverage ... what an insult.  If I were Redmond I’d be pissed.  Fuchin’ Bettman strikes again.

I know it’s not that rare, but I found it interesting that CBC is going to cross the border to cover Ottawa at Detroit for CBC’s 2nd Detroit broadcast. 1 Edmonton game, 1 Montreal games, and 3 Toronto games. That will be a fun little road stretch at the end, with Montreal, Pittsburgh, and St. Louis all on the road.  I almost expected Vancouver to show up on CBC yearly, but not this year.

The CBC seems to know “drama” when it sees it…and I still wanted to scream, “HIRE LARRY MURPHY DAMMIT” at Greg Hammaren.

Still unknown exactly how many games Center Ice subscribers will be screwed out of by NHL Network this season.
