The Malik Report

My Finnish is dreadful, but Jatkoaika's Matias Strozyk Tweeted the following...
Doing some incredibly rough translating of Strozyk's article on Jatkoaika's website, unlike Calle Jarnkrok, who has to return to Sweden to play in the World Championships on April 14th, Jokerit Helsinki has released Teemu Pulkkinen to play for the Grand Rapids Griffins for the remainder of the 2012-2013 season:
The 21-year-old Pulkkinen was drafted three years ago in the fourth round. Pulkkinen has continued playing as a forward for Jokerit since then. During the 2012-2013 season he played in 59 games and scored 14 goals and registered 20 assists for 34 points.
Also unlike Jarnkrok (the Wings have signed both players to entry-level deals), the Wings are much more likely to assign Pulkkinen to Grand Rapids next season as he's going to need to spend more time adjusting to the North American game.
I would be remiss to not mention that TD on Twitter told me that this move was happening last night.

About The Malik Report
The Malik Report is a destination for all things Red Wings-related. I offer biased, perhaps unprofessional-at-times and verbose coverage of my favorite team, their prospects and developmental affiliates. I've joined the Kukla's Korner family with five years of blogging under my belt, and I hope you'll find almost everything you need to follow your Red Wings at a place where all opinions are created equal and we're all friends, talking about hockey and the team we love to follow.
