Update: Here's Fox Sports Detroit's Red-vs-White game broadcast release:

The NHL lockout is officially over, training camps open Sunday and the regular season is just a week away.

The Red Wings start the 2013 season in St. Louis on Jan. 19. Their home opener will be Jan. 22 vs. Dallas.

Because of the time crunch involved in getting a 48-game schedule in before the playoffs, the NHL didn't have room for any preseason games. But the Red Wings and FOX Sports Detroit have managed to sneak one in.

The Wings will face off against their American Hockey League affiliate, the Grand Rapids Griffins, on Tuesday at 6 p.m. The game will be played at Compuware Arena in Plymouth, Mich., and aired live on FOX Sports Detroit.

As usual, Ken Daniels and Mickey Redmond will call the game, which will feature interviews with players and coaches and include some fun, not-so-usual surprises.

If you miss it, the game will re-air at midnight and then Wednesday at noon.

Update #2: Here's some news regarding Mike Knuble, per the Free Press's Helene St. James:

The Wings are letting veteran forward Mike Knuble join their camp, though at 40 he's got considerable odds against him to make a team already stocked with 15 forwards, plus Patrick Eaves, who is recovering from a concussion. Knuble played for the Wings from '96-98, and since has been with the Rangers, Boston, Philadelphia and Washington. He does have one asset to his advantage: He shoots rights, something the Wings don't have in overabundance. Holland said no other invitations have been extended.

And, via RedWingsFeed, here's a bit more about Knuble, from the Detroit News's Ted Kulfan:

Mike Knuble will be in Red Wings training camp on a professional tryout. Knuble, 40, who grew up in East Kentwood, will be a long shot to make a roster that already is deep at forward.

Knuble has been skating with the Grand Rapids Griffins, and, at 6-foot-3 and 230 pounds, has size that could be intriguing.

"We'll bring into camp, he's been skating with the Griffins, and we'll see what he has to offer," general manager Ken Holland said.

Also:

Holland said Darren Helm (undisclosed injury) is day-to-day and will be re-examined Monday after hurting himself working out last week.

… Carlo Colaiacovo (sore shoulder) should be on the ice Sunday. Patrick Eaves (concussion) has been cleared for non-contact, conditioning drills.

... Holland said Pavel Datsyuk likely will arrive in Detroit on Monday after playing Saturday in the Kontinental Hockey League All-Star game in Russia. Datsyuk likely will begin taking part in training camp the middle of the week.
