Red Wings-Blackhawks Game 4 multimedia post: Howard, Zetterberg, Kindl, Brunner, Babcock weigh in

Bandwidth can be a cruel mistress, but I promise that the multimedia post subsequent to the Red Wings' 2-0 win over the Chicago Blackhawks in Game 4 of their second-round series--which is this thing right here--will include more links and fewer auto-play videos. Learning on the fly here, folks (and both We All Bleed Red on YouTube and I wonder what the hell Duncan Keith said to Al Sobotka before Al twirled the pre-game octopus).

Anyway, here are the game's highlights from the Wings' website, as narrated by the CBC's Bob Cole:

ESPN posted a 3:19 clip in which Barry Melrose and Steve Levy discussed the game, NBC posted a 1:24 highlight clip, the CBC posted a 2:50 highlight clip, Sportsnet posted a 2:21 highlight clip,TSN posted a 27-highlight clip and Comcast Sportsnet Chicago posted a 3:11 highlight clip:

Post-game: The Gordie Howe interview "bombing" has its own post, but he was shown in the building on the NBC broadcast before the game, and if you want to watch Ndamakong Suh on the Zamboni, enjoy;

In the analysis department, the NHL Tonight broke down the game;

Sportsnet's Hockeycentral crew praised Justin Abdelkader's grit in their post-game analysis;

Yes, NBC Sports and Eddie Olczyk did call Jonathan Toews out for his three trips to the penalty box, but Olczyk was amused by Bryan Bickell's attempt to eviscerate Justin Abdelkader at the bottom of a scrum. As such, we get to watch this instead:

The CBC posted clips of their panel getting gushy about Pavel Datsyuk, they profiled Patrick Eaves, and Bob Cole offered a delicately-put analysis of Jonathan Toews' meltdown;

Comcast Sportsnet's Tracey Myers, Chris Boden and their Blackhawks Postgame Live crew pondered what went wrong for Chicago...

As did the Chicago Tribune's Chris Kuc and David Haugh;

And the Free Press's Evil Drew Sharp and Helene St. James weighed in on the game as well.

In the interview department, NHL.com posted clips of Corey Crawford and Jonathan Toews' post-game scrums, as well as comments by Henrik Zetterberg and Jimmy Howard. Here's Zetterberg...

And Here's Howard:

TSN posted clips of coach Mike Babcock and coach Joel Quenneville's post-game pressers;

The Blackhawks' website posted Quenneville's presser and Patrick Sharp, Toews and Crawford's comments;

ESPN Chicago posted a clip of Toews speaking to the media;

The Chicago Tribune posted clips of Corey Crawford and Jimmy Howard discussing the game;

The Chicago Sun-Times posted a clip of Crawford talking to the media;

Comcast Sportsnet Chicago posted clips of Sharp, Toews and Quenneville speaking to the media;

The Red Wings' website posted clips of Zetterberg...

Jakub Kindl...

Howard...

And coach Babcock's presser:

Via RedWingsFeed, the Detroit News posted a combined clip of Quenneville and Babcock's pressers, as well as comments from Howard, Kindl and Zetterberg;

WXYZ's David Solano filed a post-game report:

Fox Sports Detroit posted clips of Kindl speaking to John Keating about his game...

And Howard talking about getting Howe-bombed:

The Windsor Star's Bob Duff posted clips from Howard and Zetterberg's scrums;

And Currich5 on YouTube posted clips of Zetterberg, Howard and Damien Brunner speaking to the media:

Photos: The Detroit News posted a 38-image gallery;

The Detroit Free Press posted an 38-image gallery;

MLive posted a 44-image gallery;

The Windsor Star posted 8 large images from the game;

The Chicago Tribune posted a 37-image gallery;

The Chicago Daily Herald posted an 18-image gallery;

The Chicago Sun-Times posted a 17-image gallery;

Yahoo Sports posted an indeterminate number of images in its very wonky Wings photo gallery;

ESPN posted an 86-image gallery;

And NHL.com, the Blackhawks' website and the Red Wings' website posted 68, 60 and 68-image galleries, respectively.

Update: Per request, here's the CBC's post-game show:

Update #2: Via RedWingsFeed, here's Jakub Kindl speaking to the NHL Network via that creepy Cisco Arena Cam:

Please don’t take this as being critical, but you could post one more thing (unless I missed it. I have no idea how you collect all this so quickly): the CBC post-game show, where Elliotte Friedman basically said the last season Jimmy Howard contract served as a show of confidence for Jimmy Howard going into the playoffs.

Really, really terrific goal by Kindl.  That is a seriously precise shot.

Well done, Wings.

If I go back to some of the blog comments from the past year or so, which deserves the most/least revision and I’m paraphrasing:
(1) Abdelkader shouldn’t be playing with Datsyuk, and can’t score.
(2) Ericsson’s contract was overpaying, and he won’t live up to it
(3) They should have traded/gotten rid of Cleary, he can’t/won’t contribute
(4) They should have gotten rid of Franzen, he’s not worth keeping because of his streakiness
(5) Jimmy Howard is not an elite goalie, and the new contract is a horrible signing
(6) They should have traded Filppula while they had the chance, he’s overrated
(7) Holland should have been more active at the trade deadline if he’s serious about making a playoff run
(8) They should have traded Kyle Quincey while they had the chance
(9) The mid-season struggles are on Babcock. He’s not that good of a coach, they’ve stopped listening to him.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I think I’ve seen all of these comments at least once (and sometimes many times). I’ve thought along the line of a few of the comments above. Just wondering in hindsight,...

sorry, and one correction to the first post: “Late season” Jimmy Howard contract signing (which Friedman said was unusual to do).

You’re not alone, like I said. Winning makes eating crow taste a lot better for me too…

I’d rather be proven wrong by success than defeat Bugsy.  They were also a different team, they’ve answered the bell.  Good on’em.  Now lets put the skate to the throat.

And holy shit.. Kindl’s ears are as big as Kronwalls feet are small.
