Red Wings announce details of this year’s ‘BrewHaHa’

Detroit, MI... The Detroit Red Wings are proud to present the return of the Hockeytown BrewHaHa craft beer festival and local culinary showcase, as Hockeytown BrewHaHa Oktoberfest will be held just outside of Joe Louis Arena on Saturday, September 28 from 1-6 p.m. A sequel to the popular Hockeytown BrewHaHa Street Eats and Craft Beer Fest held in April, this event will once again offer some of the biggest names in craft beer as well as culinary samples from the Olympia Entertainment chefs and food for purchase from Detroit’s top gourmet food trucks.

A limited quantity of VIP tickets are also available for this year’s event. The new VIP tickets, available for $60, offer early festival entry at 12 p.m. and also provide first dibs on limited release specialty beers and shorter lines for food selections. VIP guests will have access to restrooms inside Joe Louis Arena at the C.C. Olympia Club and will receive a specialty collectable Hockeytown BrewHaHa Oktoberfest glass stein.

Taking a page from the world-famous Oktoberfest celebrations in Germany, the Hockeytown BrewHaHa Oktoberfest is heading outside, located in the Executive Riverfront Lot of Joe Louis Arena, adjacent to the Detroit River. Guests will be able to sample a featured Oktoberfest-style food item, provided by Olympia Entertainment Hospitality, and can enjoy live music and the new biergarten.

Tickets also include 10 coupons for 4-oz. craft beer samples from any of the participating breweries, access to Detroit’s hottest food trucks inside the festival grounds, a behind-the-scenes tour of Joe Louis Arena and a variety of interactive games and activities. Additional food and drink coupons can be purchased as desired. General admission tickets are also on sale for $37.50 apiece at the Joe Louis Arena box office, all Ticketmaster outlets (1-800-745-3000) or online at http://www.DetroitRedWings.com/BrewHaHa Group. rates are available for parties of 15 or more by calling 313-394-7593.

Hockeytown BrewHaHa Oktoberfest will offer beer samples from local Michigan favorites such as Arbor, Arcadia, Atwater, Bell’s, Brewery Vivant, Dragonmead, Founders, Griffin Claw, Jolly Pumpkin, Motor City, Mount Pleasant, New Holland, North Peak and Saugatuck, as well as popular breweries from around the world in Anchor, Angry Orchard, Beck’s, Blue Moon, Crispin, Franziskaner, Goose Island, Leinenkugel’s, Sam Adams, Shock Top, Spaten, Stella Artois and Stone. Returning Detroit food truck companies include Green Zebra, Grindhouse, Mac Shack and Treat Dreams.

Additional sponsors of Hockeytown BrewHaHa Oktoberfest include MotorCity Casino Hotel and Griffin Claw.
