The Malik Report

Very briefly, as I was and am ill, I missed these last night, and here's your Red Wings prospect news for the day:
Minus one Calle Jarnkrok, the AHL's Grand Rapids Griffins defeated the Chicago Wolves 4-2 last night. The Griffins' website (with video and a photo gallery) and the Grand Rapids Press's Peter J. Wallner recap the game;
In the ECHL, Jared Coreau stopped 41 of 43 shots, but his Toledo Walleye still dropped a 2-0 decision to the South Carolina Stingrays. The Walleye's website and the Toledo Blade's Rachel Lenzi recap the game;
In the QMJHL, Phillipe Hudon didn't register a point in the Victoriaville Cougars' 4-3 OT loss to Rimouski;
In the OHL, Andreas Athanasiou was held off the scoresheet as his Barrie Colts lost 4-2 to Sudbury;
In the WHL, neither Marek Tvrdon nor Mitchell Wheaton posted a point in their Kelowna Rockets' 3-1 win over Spokane;
In BCHL playoff hockey, David Pope didn't register a point as his West Kelowna Warriors lost 4-1 to Vernon, tying the teams' first-round series at 1 game apiece;
And today, in the Swedish SHL: Mattias Janmark didn't register a point but played 20:54 in AIK Stockholm's 3-2 loss to Vaxjo. AIK will be playing in the Kvalserien soon, attempting to defend their place in the Swedish SHL against Allsvenskan team Djurgardens IF;
And Mattias Backman didn't register a point but played 18:39 in Linkopings HC's 3-2 loss to Brynas IF.

About The Malik Report
The Malik Report is a destination for all things Red Wings-related. I offer biased, perhaps unprofessional-at-times and verbose coverage of my favorite team, their prospects and developmental affiliates. I've joined the Kukla's Korner family with five years of blogging under my belt, and I hope you'll find almost everything you need to follow your Red Wings at a place where all opinions are created equal and we're all friends, talking about hockey and the team we love to follow.
