Practice Tweets: Wings prepare for Flyers minus Thomas Vanek

The Red Wings hit the ice for practice at 11 AM this morning, preparing for Wednesday's "NBCSN Rivalry Night" game against a Philadelphia Flyers team they haven't defeated in Philly since 1997.

MLive's Ansar Khan reported in...

And Khan continued...

Petr Mrazek in starter's net for #RedWings in practice.

...

#RedWings lines at practice:
Nyquist-Nielsen-Larkin
Tatar-Zetterberg-Abdelkader
Athanasiou-Helm-Sheahan
Miller-Glendening-Ott

...

#RedWings defense pairs:
DeKeyser-Green
Ericsson-Marchenko
Smith-Ouellet
Sproul (extra), Kronwall (IR) skating

DetroitRedWings.com's Dana Wakiji also weighed in...

All #RedWings except Vanek practicing this morning.

As did the Red Wings...

FYI:

Also as an FYI, Jeff Blashill appeared on the "NHL Now" last night...

And the NHL Now crew played a, "Blashill or Babcock?" quote game:

Update #1: I don't know what the hell this means:

Update #2: From Khan:

#RedWings Blashill said no decision yet on goalie and defense for tomorrow's game at @NHLFlyers

From St. James, regarding the Wings' claiming of Martin Frk off the waiver wire:

Red Wings were only team to put in claim for Martin Frk, which made it possible to assign him to Grand Rapids.

I really disagree with Sproul being the healthy scratch. The left and right handed d pairings were working well. And Sproul is a big body that can skate really well. I don’t see anything about Oullett that warrants him in the lineup over Sproul.
Also disagree with Nyquist and Helm being separated, they both seemed to work well together.

I think we need new doctors or masseurs or diet specialists to somehow limit those groin injuries (if this is what Vanek has). The guy has been a picture of health throughout his career.

Not sure how the Wings can complain about injuries this year when looking at Dallas, Minnesota, and LA.

Because no one likes injuries, no matter how many you might have?

If your not tweaking your groin in the first month of the season, your not playing hard enough.

Would like to see Howard start tomorrow.

Might as well lose, since they haven’t won since 1997. Next year will be 20 yrs.  All those who like number of years stuff. Break the Fing rear view mirror
