Pavel Datsyuk’s advancing in EA Sports’ NHL 2014 ‘Cover Vote’

I've been out of the loop for a bit, so this bit of video game-related news from MLive's Josh Slaghter, via RedWingsFeed, comes as a pleasant surprise:

The Detroit Red Wings advanced in the Stanley Cup playoffs. And Pavel Datsyuk has been making his way through the EA Sports bracket, reaching the quarterfinals for the second consecutive year in the voting for the NHL game's latest cover athlete.

Last year, Datsyuk lost out to John Tavares of the New York Islanders. Claude Giroux of the Philadelphia Flyers was elected this year's cover. This time around in the quarterfinals Datsyuk is facing off with Toronto's Joffrey Lupul.

Voting ends May 19.

Datsyuk could face off against either Toronoto's James Van Riemsdyk or New Jersey's Martin Broudeur in the semifinals.

My PS3 died and they don’t make NHL games for PC or for PS Vita, so I’ve lost interest. Was the only game I even really played on my PS3. Just not worth buying a new one for 1 game.

I don’t think a guy whose parents can’t even spell Jeffrey right deserves to be on the game cover…

About The Malik Report

The Malik Report is a destination for all things Red Wings-related. I offer biased, perhaps unprofessional-at-times and verbose coverage of my favorite team, their prospects and developmental affiliates. I've joined the Kukla's Korner family with five years of blogging under my belt, and I hope you'll find almost everything you need to follow your Red Wings at a place where all opinions are created equal and we're all friends, talking about hockey and the team we love to follow.
