NHL’s ice-making truck for the Winter Classic to hit road on Tues, stop in Troy on Wed.

According to the NHL, the league's mobile refrigeration truck will hit the road on a two-day trip from Toronto to Ann Arbor, MI starting tomorrow in Oakville, ON:

TORONTO / NEW YORK (December 9, 2013) – The world’s largest mobile refrigeration unit measuring at 53-feet will start its road trip near Toronto at the Canlan Ice Sports facility in Oakville, Ont., before making its way to Ann Arbor, Mich. for the 2014 Bridgestone NHL Winter Classic® on Jan. 1. The outdoor game, less than one month away, will see host Detroit Red Wings face division rival Toronto Maple Leafs.

The 2014 Bridgestone NHL Winter Classic® Ice Truck presented by York, the market leader in HVAC solutions, will begin its road trip in Oakville at the Canlan Ice Sports facility. Fans are invited to meet Hall of Famer Darryl Sittler who will be participating in the 2013 Maple Leafs vs Red Wings Alumni Showdown™. The Alumni games, which will feature more than fifty (50) hockey greats, will take place on Dec. 31 at Comerica Park in Detroit, Mich. Tickets are available at Ticketmaster.ca and Ticketmaster.com.

On-site at the Canlan Ice Sports parking lot, York will be giving away 500 passes to the Hockey Hall of Fame in return for a donation with proceeds going to the Oakville Foodshare Bank and Mississauga Food Bank. Fans can also submit ballots for a chance to win two (2) tickets to the 2014 Bridgestone NHL Winter Classic®.

On Wednesday, Dec. 11 the 2014 Bridgestone NHL Winter Classic® Ice Truck presented by York will stop near Detroit at the Troy Sports Center (1819 E. Big Beaver) in Troy, Mich. en route to Ann Arbor, Mich. Former NHL player Tomas Holmstrom, who is playing in the Alumni Showdown at Comerica Park, will be on-site for photo and interview opportunities from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. (*approx. end time.)

This York community event in Troy is open to the public and there will be fan giveaways including a raffle to win a furnace and installation.

Tune in to the 2014 Bridgestone NHL Winter Classic®: the outdoor game will be broadcast nationally in Canada on CBC and RDS, and nationally in the U.S. on NBC at 1:00 p.m. EST.

Kinda funny that the leafs sent Daryl Sittler, he who is famous for getting 10 pts in one night, and the wings send holmstrom, who is famous for putting his ass in goalies faces and speaking broken engrish lol
