Manny Legace joins Fox Sports Detroit’s broadcasting team as a collegiate analyst

Interesting news from the Free Press's James Jahnke:

Former Detroit Red Wings goaltender Manny Legace has been hired as a college hockey analyst for Fox Sports Detroit for the 2013-14 season, the network announced today.

Legace won the 2002 Stanley Cup with the Wings and also spent time with the Los Angeles Kings, St. Louis Blues and Carolina Hurricanes during an 11-year NHL career.

“I’m happy to be joining the Fox Sports Detroit team,” Legace said in a released statement. “I enjoyed my broadcasting experience in St. Louis with the Blues while I was injured. I’m excited to bring my perspective as a player to these college hockey games.”

FSD will broadcast 21 more college games this season. Legace will make his debut with play-by-play announcer Matt Shepard on Friday for the UMass Lowell vs. Michigan State game in East Lansing.

About The Malik Report

The Malik Report is a destination for all things Red Wings-related. I offer biased, perhaps unprofessional-at-times and verbose coverage of my favorite team, their prospects and developmental affiliates. I've joined the Kukla's Korner family with five years of blogging under my belt, and I hope you'll find almost everything you need to follow your Red Wings at a place where all opinions are created equal and we're all friends, talking about hockey and the team we love to follow.
