Khan: Red Wings goalie Jonas Gustavsson’s neck injury will keep him out for seven days

Less than super news from MLive's Ansar Khan:

The Detroit Red Wings have placed goaltender Jonas Gustvasson on short-term injured reserve (seven-day minimum) due to his sore neck, general manager Ken Holland said.

Petr Mrazek will make his first start of the season for the Red Wings Saturday night in Edmonton.

And here's the Wings' Game Day Preview video:

The Flames also posted a game-day preview from Sportsnet's Rob Kerr in two parts, as well as clips of Mikael Backlund, Joey MacDonald, Shane O'Brien and coach Bob Hartley speaking with the media.

About The Malik Report

The Malik Report is a destination for all things Red Wings-related. I offer biased, perhaps unprofessional-at-times and verbose coverage of my favorite team, their prospects and developmental affiliates. I've joined the Kukla's Korner family with five years of blogging under my belt, and I hope you'll find almost everything you need to follow your Red Wings at a place where all opinions are created equal and we're all friends, talking about hockey and the team we love to follow.
