from Ansar Khan of Mlive,
“The sun came up. Let’s get at 'er,'' Babcock said Sunday, after practice at Nationwide Arena. “We met today and went through our game, technically and from a physical standpoint and from a compete standpoint. We went on the ice for 35 minutes and tried to get tempo going off the start, work on a couple of things, and she’s a new day tomorrow.''
“We have to be way more competitive than we were,'' Babcock said. “We didn’t have much structure and much battle in us. It was disappointing. It was pretty easy to see and it didn’t feel very good to be a player or a coach, a manager, probably an owner.''

Kenny Holland has a lot of work to do.

The good news is that Babcock & Holland and the players all acknowledge that what they produced was unacceptable.

It’s not all Holland’s fault. Twenty years of success = twenty years of low draft picks.
BUT, I’m sick of the talk. If guys aren’t willing to work, trade their a$$es and get some players in the line up who want to win.
Bring up some players from GR!
DO SOMETHING.
LET’S GO RED WINGS !!!!!

Twenty years of success = twenty years of low draft picks.
Whatever, their best players are draft picks and having low draft picks doesn’t excuse poor signings and the apparent pathalogical need to have not enough top six and way too many bottom six forwards or the thought process that says “You can’t replace Lidstrom so why even bother trying”.

The good news is that Babcock & Holland and the players all acknowledge that what they produced was unacceptable.
But the bad news is this has been a common occurence for the last few years. How many times have we hear Uncle Mike say “we weren’t prepared, we didn’t compete hard enough” etc etc etc. Something has to give.

The Malik Report is a destination for all things Red Wings-related. I offer biased, perhaps unprofessional-at-times and verbose coverage of my favorite team, their prospects and developmental affiliates. I've joined the Kukla's Korner family with five years of blogging under my belt, and I hope you'll find almost everything you need to follow your Red Wings at a place where all opinions are created equal and we're all friends, talking about hockey and the team we love to follow.
