How Is The 2013 Draft Class Of The Detroit Red Wings Doing?

Brendan Savage takes a look at the 2013 draft class of the Detroit Red Wings.

I am skipping over Mantha so let's look at...

• Zach Nastasiuk, RW

The Red Wings' second-round pick (48th overall), Nastasiuk (6-1, 190) has 13 goals, 19 assists and a minus-9 rating to rank third among scorers for the OHL's Owen Sound Attack.

He's 15th on the Red Wings' prospects list.

Nastasiuk is also Owen Sound's captain.

• Tyler Bertuzzi, LW

In 29 games for the OHL's Guelph Storm, Bertuzzi (6-0, 178) has 10 goals, 25 assists, 49 PIM and a plus-9 rating. He leads the Storm in PIM per game at 1.69.

He was the Red Wings' second-round pick (58th overall) and is tied for 20th on the Red Wings' prospects list.

Bertuzzi is the nephew of Todd Bertuzzi, the Red Wings' veteran forward.

Ty Bert is the one who surprising me the most.  Granted that it’s just the OHL, still he has unexpected hands.

About The Malik Report

The Malik Report is a destination for all things Red Wings-related. I offer biased, perhaps unprofessional-at-times and verbose coverage of my favorite team, their prospects and developmental affiliates. I've joined the Kukla's Korner family with five years of blogging under my belt, and I hope you'll find almost everything you need to follow your Red Wings at a place where all opinions are created equal and we're all friends, talking about hockey and the team we love to follow.
