The Macomb Daily's Chuck Pleiness and MLive's Ansar Khan reported that the Red Wings expect to lose associate coach Tom Renney's services to Hockey Canada, and TSN's Darren Dreger reports that Hockey Canada will officially announce that Renney will president Bob Nicholson in short order:
Update: Make it Tuesday...
Update #2: In text form:
Hockey Canada appears to have found their replacement for Bob Nicholson.
Former NHL head coach Tom Renney will be announced as Hockey Canada's new president in Calgary Tuesday.
The job opened up when Nicholson joined the Edmonton Oilers to oversee the team's business operations earlier this off-season.
Renney will leave his post as associate coach with the Detroit Red Wings, where he's been the past two seasons.
The former head coach of the Vancouver Canucks, New York Rangers, and Edmonton Oilers was a candidate for a couple head coaching vacancies this off-season.

About The Malik Report
The Malik Report is a destination for all things Red Wings-related. I offer biased, perhaps unprofessional-at-times and verbose coverage of my favorite team, their prospects and developmental affiliates. I've joined the Kukla's Korner family with five years of blogging under my belt, and I hope you'll find almost everything you need to follow your Red Wings at a place where all opinions are created equal and we're all friends, talking about hockey and the team we love to follow.
