I am not the least bit surprised.

So Dumbass coach replaces Frk with Aby on the Wings best line by far. He is so bad he will lead the Wings to a Top 3 Draft pick.

Arizona had an optional today, but we do know Antti Raanta will start in goal.

So leave the ineffective 1st line as is. But replace Frk with Abby. Smart! But hey Abby did score on that 4-on-3 so he deserves more minutes.

Kronwall can barely skate but Blashill still thinks it’s a good idea to have him cover the most area (whole damn blue line) on the PP. That and he breaks up the best line this season by tying Abbie the anchor to it. He’s either in way over his head, or stealth tanking like a boss…..

Green only has 6 assists in 3 games.

But loses his spot on the top PP to Kronwall.

But I guess Kronwall is better at walking the blueline so this makes total sense when you think about it. Any coach would do the same!

Yeah, nothing is going to change, seniority is what matters the most. At least use Kronwall on a second PP unit that has some speed.

Frk getting demoted didn’t take long

Abby getting promoted, did not take long, lol. Abby was so fabulous in the first 3 games that he just has to be in the top 6. So much better than Frk. So much better than Helm. But this is good news for Nielsen at least.

Hey Mr Holland, please start paying attention because your coach is clearly trying to get fired.

Please oblige.

Paul, I love when you share the lineups and the PP units. If you want to save some time, you don’t always have to put (net front) in brackets.

I think all of us know that if Abby, Sheahan, Helm are EVER on a PP, it is merely to stand like a pylon in front of the net. We also know that our PP scheme hasn’t changed in years and will always feature someone standing around rather than a fluid approach.

Just an idea cool smile

Green is keeping his spot : with Mantha/Larkin/Frk

Kronwall is taking Daley’s spot: with Nyquist/Zetterberg/Tatar

The other change is that Nielsen is replacing Sheahan on Green’s PP-unit.

..........

...Daley is with Ericsson.

Is this a demotion for Daley, to the second pair, or a promotion for Ericsson, to the top pair? This is an honest question. Either way it’s a bad decision. Although any pair with Ericsson in it is a bad decision.

Curiously we have only 3 forwards who can shoot the puck, all of them are on the same unit and one of them is a net front.

our PP scheme hasn’t changed in years

we are still running the PP that’s working when you have Lidstrom at the top and Holmstrom as net front.

Well, in Blash’s world, you take the line that is producing the best and break them up so you can “get the other lines going”. Then when they start to develop chemistry and produce, you repeat the process. That way, in a couple games, the whole team is “going”! Just like how it worked last year!

Babcock had exactly the same approach and I equally hated it. Mix up the other 6 players, but leave 1 producing line alone.

I actually don’t mind breaking up one strong line if the other 3 are trash. You can’t win with just one line going.

Unfortunately what Blashill did this morning doesn’t actually address the fact that his #1 line is completely ineffective. So you are breaking up the only line that is effective, but not actually making changes to the glaring problem. Tatar and Nyquist should never be playing together. We saw that last year. We’re seeing it again now.

Tatar-Zee-Mantha
Nyquist-Larkin-Frk

Not that complicated. No sign of Abby. Just make sure Tatar and Nyquist get split up. You could even have them swap roles if the above doesn’t work.

But to break up your strong line, then insert the grenade known as Abby, and leave your completely invisible #1 line intact is yet more evidence of a clueless coach. And an inept GM who won’t do anything about it…

I’m guessing when we were 6-2 last year you probably thought all the naysayers were wrong and we might be a playoff contender. I recall many fans felt that way, without actually realizing how extremely unsustainable our play was in those 6 wins. Carry on…

Your claim was that “You can’t winwith just one line going.”

The Wings have had one line going. They not only have one win, but they have two.

Your claim is clearly false. wink

Hey, ILH and FS, why don’t you two get a room somewhere and either make up or beat the crap out of one another. This non-stop adolescent pissing match between the two of you is really getting old.

At the very least, please just use the Ignore feature on one another. You both have more than enough hockey knowledge to make your points without getting into these petty, and personal, “word wars.” Can you please just “let it go?”
