44-93-11 is a pretty interesting line.

71 on the second line is *#$%@& stupid though.

#redwings are staking with the following lines: 40-13-8; 71-90-21; 44-93-11; and 20-18-22.

I’m thrilled to see Tatar back in the line-up. But saddling him with the two guys who’ve been nearly invisible this year is just sad. I’d much rather see him on a line with Franzen and Alfie. Oh, well. Baby steps, I guess.

I don’t mind him being with Weiss, having someone young and hungry on his line could be helpful, but with 71 on the line it just seems like Babcock is inserting Tatar into the lineup with subpar linemates so that he won’t produce and Babcock can pull him from the lineup again and say “See?”

This is just like watching the whole “Hudler scenario” all over again. For whatever reason, Babcock never seemed to like him. And I’m getting the same feeling with Tatar.

About The Malik Report

The Malik Report is a destination for all things Red Wings-related. I offer biased, perhaps unprofessional-at-times and verbose coverage of my favorite team, their prospects and developmental affiliates. I've joined the Kukla's Korner family with five years of blogging under my belt, and I hope you'll find almost everything you need to follow your Red Wings at a place where all opinions are created equal and we're all friends, talking about hockey and the team we love to follow.
