Daniel Alfredsson, Flagstar bank partner to start ‘Baby Wings’ program to welcome new hockey fans

While he won't take part in tonight's game, Daniel Alfredsson's commitment to charitable endeavors remains very strong in the Ottawa area, and on Friday, DetroitRedWings.com's Andrea Nelson reported that Alfredsson's established an official charitable footprint in Southeastern Michigan (though you can be assured that he,the vast majority of his Wings teammates, is doing more behind the scenes):

Forward Daniel Alfredsson helped launch the program, which delivers a special goody bag to families who come to one of three hospitals in Metro Detroit for the birth of their child during the hockey season. “I have been part of four births myself, I have four boys at home and it’s a very emotional and a very, if everything goes well that is, it’s probably the best feeling I’ve ever had,” Alfredsson said. “It’s one of feeling until you meet something that’s gone through it, you can’t explain it and I’m looking forward to obviously seeing the emotions of the new partners and share my story and congratulate.”

About The Malik Report

The Malik Report is a destination for all things Red Wings-related. I offer biased, perhaps unprofessional-at-times and verbose coverage of my favorite team, their prospects and developmental affiliates. I've joined the Kukla's Korner family with five years of blogging under my belt, and I hope you'll find almost everything you need to follow your Red Wings at a place where all opinions are created equal and we're all friends, talking about hockey and the team we love to follow.
