The Malik Report

Columbus Point Of View

from Shawn Mitchell of Puck-Rakers,

“Sometimes you get wrapped up in it all,” Blue Jackets forward Matt Calvert said. “But that doesn’t matter. It’s a battle from here on out. We battled with these guys last year and they beat us out. Now, it’s our turn to take that playoff spot.”...

Nyquist scored more goals than all of the Blue Jackets combined last week. The Jackets have six goals in their past five games and have failed to convert their past 36 power plays.

“We have to find ways to score and get pucks and bodies to the net,” Richards said. “This team isn’t going to allow you to make tic-tac-toe plays. It’s going to be getting pucks to the paint and getting some bodies there, getting second and third opportunities.”

Or it might mean the floodgates are gonna bust wide open tonight.

Or it could mean that Nyquist outscores them by himself tonight.

Who knows?

Or Mitch will be watching over the buddies he had when they won the baby cup.

Again, who knows?

About The Malik Report

The Malik Report is a destination for all things Red Wings-related. I offer biased, perhaps unprofessional-at-times and verbose coverage of my favorite team, their prospects and developmental affiliates. I've joined the Kukla's Korner family with five years of blogging under my belt, and I hope you'll find almost everything you need to follow your Red Wings at a place where all opinions are created equal and we're all friends, talking about hockey and the team we love to follow.
