I am old enough to remember Budd Lynch do play-by-play for the Wings and like I did with Ernie Harwell, there were numerous nights I fell asleep with Budd under my pillow.
In those days, only a handful of games were on TV and some games were joined in progress, meaning we were lucky enough to catch about 35 minutes of actual game play.
Budd Lynch had a way of making the greats of our game even greater. I probably learned more about the game by listening to him than any other source at the time.

RIP Budd.
Another Detroit brodcasting icon is gone now . Allways loved when he called the mite games on the PA system during the intermission of the Red Wing games.

About The Malik Report
The Malik Report is a destination for all things Red Wings-related. I offer biased, perhaps unprofessional-at-times and verbose coverage of my favorite team, their prospects and developmental affiliates. I've joined the Kukla's Korner family with five years of blogging under my belt, and I hope you'll find almost everything you need to follow your Red Wings at a place where all opinions are created equal and we're all friends, talking about hockey and the team we love to follow.
How sad to lose him now, during a stupid lockout. He will be missed.
