Blackhawks fined $10,000 subsequent to Jamal Mayers’ fine for shooting pucks at Jimmy Howard, Wings

Yesterday, Blackhawks forward Jamal Mayers was fined for tossing pucks at Jimmy Howard and several Red Wings players during warm-ups prior to Game 5. Today, TSN's Darren Dreger reports that the team was fined as well:

I understand the Mayers fine--in addition to being a serious-ass breach of ettiquette, players and goalies can get knocked over if they're hit in the backs of their skates or shins, which is just plain dangerous--but the team fine seems just gratuitous at this point.

I’d settle for a Walkom, O’Halloran, and Rooney public flogging for taking Gary.Ass wetdream of a series.

I would like to see Gregory, the NHL Supervisor of officials, reprimanded for NHL referee’s performance or lack there of!  Just dreaming as he is probably protected hiding under Bettman’s desk. Very BIG desk with all his puppets under there??

Where were the officials when Mayers was shooting pucks at the Detroit net, another Fail…

Really, I don’t get upset very long about the officials in the NHL.  For the Wings they can only control what they do and puck possession usually means you don’t get penalties.  Too much chasing the puck with this years team equals more penalties.

If the Wings spend less time in their own end they will have a shot at an upset, if not Jimmy will be under siege.  Will see Wed what the Wings can do!
