Sorry this is so very late, but I kinda crashed after a pair of nights with little sleep and some fun fun fun moving of cars around the condo parking lot early in the morning. There's something of a modicum of good news on the back injury front! MLive's Ansar Khan reports that Red Wings forward Todd Bertuzzi is just dealing with the kinds of issues that those of us with bad backs and hip flexors (myself included) deal with in terms of wear and tear, and Bertuzzi isn't expected to be out for an extended period of time as his MRI came back showing no issues in terms of strains or sprains:
"Docs didn't see anything significant. Weekend off and see how he feels Monday,'' Holland said.
The Red Wings recalled forward Joakim Andersson (6-2, 200) from the Grand Rapids Griffins. Andersson has 10 goals, 17 assists and 55 penalty minutes in 36 games with the Griffins. He appeared in five games with the Red Wings last season, getting no points.
Holland said Andersson was recalled because the team wanted a extra forward nearby this weekend, just in case. The Griffins play in Oklahoma City this weekend, and it might have been difficult to get someone to Detroit at short notice.
"We don't want to wake up tomorrow or Sunday and need a body,'' Holland said. “We have different ideas for the lineup, we'll decide in the morning. (Andersson) brings a big body, he can penalty kill, he's a good defensive forward.''

White looked way better when he was playing on the left side while paired with Jonathan Ericsson. He finally got his legs under him on Thursday. His shot seems to be off but he’s working his way back into the mix.

About The Malik Report
The Malik Report is a destination for all things Red Wings-related. I offer biased, perhaps unprofessional-at-times and verbose coverage of my favorite team, their prospects and developmental affiliates. I've joined the Kukla's Korner family with five years of blogging under my belt, and I hope you'll find almost everything you need to follow your Red Wings at a place where all opinions are created equal and we're all friends, talking about hockey and the team we love to follow.
Interesting he has 55 PIMs in 36s as a Swede Wings prospect. He’s paid he’s dues in the minors and deserves a chance like Tatar, Emmerton, Mursak. Kindl etc. We will find out soon enough stays and who goes.

Difference between him and me is I work through my days when my back is killing me.
Need Bert for the playoff push though so I get resting him though.
Didn’t read much mentioned about Ian White return to lineup. I think his return helped a lot on defense take pressure off Kindle and Lashoff who looked panic like often anyway with the puck. We desperately need another defenseman either a stay at home muscle crease mover or PP point man offense guy.
