Babcock Talk

Ansar Khan of Mlive with some Babcock talk after practice today...

“With all the injuries we have it didn’t hurt us to have a break,” Babcock said. “Now we got to get right back at it and continue to try to get traction.

“Obviously, we’re hoping to get people back but we had lots of good players last game (5-1 win at Dallas Saturday), in particular our goaltender (Jimmy Howard) was outstanding and allowed us to settle in and play. We’re going to need him tomorrow; the first 10 minutes is always survival in this building.”

The Red Wings (19-14-10, 48 points) are tied for fifth in points in the Eastern Conference; they in the first wild-card position.

“All you got to do is look at the standings; we have no separation,” Babcock said. “We have more separation from the teams ahead of us than the teams behind us.”

Babcock says the same things over and over again. Getting bored with his ramble.  Traction, Separation, ...  Get rid of the bad contracts already and bring Jurco, and1 or 2 D from GR.  If Howard loses focus again playoffs are a pipe dream

About The Malik Report

The Malik Report is a destination for all things Red Wings-related. I offer biased, perhaps unprofessional-at-times and verbose coverage of my favorite team, their prospects and developmental affiliates. I've joined the Kukla's Korner family with five years of blogging under my belt, and I hope you'll find almost everything you need to follow your Red Wings at a place where all opinions are created equal and we're all friends, talking about hockey and the team we love to follow.
