The Malik Report
At least the Grand Rapids Griffins had some fight in ‘em

The Detroit Red Wings had a rough outing on Saturday night, dropping a 6-0 loss to St. Louis, but the team's AHL affiliate, the Grand Rapids Griffins, defeated the Rockford IceHogs 11-6...And if you look at the box score, they had an "interesting" evening.
Via the Left Wing Lock's Sarah Lindenau, here's a video of a bench-clearing brawl at the 11:58 mark of the 2nd period, which resulted in game misconducts to Wings prospects Gleason Fournier, Brian Lashoff, Tomas Tatar and goaltender Petr Mrazek in an old-school bench-clearing brawl.
It's a little fuzzy, but it's also probably the only video of the brawl we'll find. For now:

#1 - thats the kind of hockey we’d like to see in the NHL
#2 - Callahan with a hat trick ... I say bring him up now
#3 - if the red wings continue to play the way they did Saturday night ... get ready for “Dead Things v2.0”. Just pathetic.

i watched this entire game. it was amazing. Rockford were gooning it up the entire time. the highlight by far was Tatar(!) totally dropping one of their dudes at the end of the brawl. it was really nuts.

So anyway…Can I just become a Griffins fan now? The Red wings seem to be on the way to meet the wizard in search of heart and brains.
I also watched this whole game as loss candy after the Red Wings Suck-fest. Definitely surprised by Tatar’s initiating a fight with the yapping Ice Hog, delivering one punch KO, and following up the punch by a few McCarty on Lemieux blows to the fallen thug leaving him a bloody mess. If you have hockeystreams watch this game. Didn’t know the little guy had it in him. TATAR! TATAR!

They’re Chicago prospects. Cut them some slack, they’re slow.

The Malik Report is a destination for all things Red Wings-related. I offer biased, perhaps unprofessional-at-times and verbose coverage of my favorite team, their prospects and developmental affiliates. I've joined the Kukla's Korner family with five years of blogging under my belt, and I hope you'll find almost everything you need to follow your Red Wings at a place where all opinions are created equal and we're all friends, talking about hockey and the team we love to follow.
Great stuff!
