Pick him up and then place him on waivers.

But this can’t be!  Surely Carolina’s GM must have moved him for Sidney Crosby and five first rounders!  Not THE Martin Frk on, *gasp* WAIVERS!

See everyone, Holland knew what he was doing all along.  I mean after all, look how well the team Holland put together played over the weekend.

I’m still going to fight on this one - you can’t tell me that Holland is so inept that he doesn’t realize teams have interest in Frk, as 3 put in a claim for him the first time around.

2 games and 16 minutes total, looks like they have him about as much chance as the Wings did.

For people looking at ice time in games as the barometer for getting “looked at” you earn that time in practice. Clearly he wasn’t good enough. He made a glaring error when he was out for the AA goal when Carolina played the wings. He may truly not have been ready for the NHL.

KH made the right choices who to put on waivers. Let’s celebrate.

With the way the team played over this past weekend, half of them should be put on waivers. And that does not include Big E….can’t believe I am saying this!!!

Lol. Made my day (and I’m having a good one, too ).

So will anyone else give him a try? Ottawa? Az?

Speaking of fun quotes of the past,

Murray is still standing strong. He will tell us we are all wrong and waiving Pulk and Frk is OK.

Hey, I did not even comment that day, but I’ll take a free assist when given.

It’s a result of a total incompetence at the top of the franchise. And that’s sad because it’s a great franchise that KH is running to the ground.

Ouch… of in other words, every year players get waived and go on to play in the AHL. There are many things to be unhappy about in regard to the direction of this franchise, but as I said, and VP credits me for, waivers are not one.

Crickets from the anti-waive pulk/frk crowd for the most part.

Well, it appears ol’ Murray was right.  The thing is, I did not think either Pulkinnen or Frk were the second coming, or even had a place on the roster necessarily, i just would like to see Ken Holland get a bag of pucks for someone.  Just a friggin’ bag of pucks.  Try to sell high at some point instead of waiting until these “high potential” prospects fizzle.  At one point in the last couple of years he could have gotten something for Pulkinnen at least…

Everybody around the league has scouts and knew what Frk and Pulky were, yet still didn’t want them in a trade. Would they trade a few years ago for them? Maybe, but what would happen if Pulky or Frk were really good? Then we’d be sitting here discussing that we only got a 7th round pick for Pulky who is now tearing the league up…. So how long do you give them? The fact is you have no idea how it’s going to turn out so let them try and crack the lineup. These two couldn’t, end of story.

That would have been awesome in retrospect, but 95% of the fan base would have been livid (myself included) if we traded away a 30+ goal scorer from the AHL.

Wow, Murray, you really have too much extra time in your life to look for quotes from me for all people. If you think, that this somehow validates the job KH is doing for the last 5 years, I still disagree, but again, congratulations to you on a big day for your ego.

If it’s a little silly for fans to get a bit analytically over-focused on two guys who still have yet to prove themselves at the NHL level, how silly is it to get meta-obsessed about the aforementioned, well after the fact?

Again, folks, please stop abusing the strawman.

Frk was our highest pick in his draft year. It’s about wasting and/or misusing assets, particularly when you’re a team that doesn’t draft that high to start with, can’t make trades and a has a more limited appeal to most UFAs.

Pulkinnen….we kept him in lieu of Jarnkrok because we “liked him a little bit better”.
Well, OK, Now that second round pick and fourth round pick are gone. We held on
to Pulkinnen just long enough so that we had no leverage and he had no value.

We’ll see if these guys can again light it up in the AHL while continuing to round out their games. Maybe they will and can break through eventually, or maybe not.

I want both of these kids to do well.

But no one claimed they were irreplaceable or instant stars for their new teams.
They claim by critics of roster and asset management was always: how many of these higher-end picks (for us anyway) can we continue to squander when, according the GM himself, there are some very significant needs to fill?

a) Quick google search on both topics, and a ctrl f for my name which you mentioned, all in 2 minutes tops, from someone who is not an IT guru.

b) I didn’t say it validated anything, my point each year on this topic is to stop crying about fringe players, and making them out to be the key piece of evidence that Holland is deploying weapons of mass destruction on the franchise.  There are other aspects of Holland’s tenure which are far more deserving of the complaint from the fanbase, waivers are not one of them, they are a fact of life for almost every NHL franchise, this one included.
