After Detroit’s Skate Today

from Ansar Khan of Mlive,

Detroit Red Wings goaltender Jonas Gustavsson might be ready to return to the lineup on Saturday, but defenseman Jonathan Ericsson isn’t likely to be back until next week.

Both said they felt good Thursday after the morning skate at Madison Square Garden, as the Red Wings prepare to face the New York Rangers tonight (7 p.m., Fox Sports Detroit)....

“I’m starting to feel good now, should be a matter of maybe a day or two,” Gustavsson said. “I went full today, no issues so far. Maybe Saturday (vs. Los Angeles); we haven’t discussed everything but I think it would be ready to go.”

Ericsson, out since Dec. 23 with fractured ribs, was hoping to return Saturday, but it appears as if he’ll sit out at least a couple more games.

I’m quite excited to get Big-E back soon.  Should help a bit.

About The Malik Report

The Malik Report is a destination for all things Red Wings-related. I offer biased, perhaps unprofessional-at-times and verbose coverage of my favorite team, their prospects and developmental affiliates. I've joined the Kukla's Korner family with five years of blogging under my belt, and I hope you'll find almost everything you need to follow your Red Wings at a place where all opinions are created equal and we're all friends, talking about hockey and the team we love to follow.
