UPDATE: Per the Penguins, surgery was performed today. His recovery is expected to take four to five months.
In what has been rumored for a few weeks, Game 7 hero Max Talbot’s agent has confirmed that Talbot will have surgery this week to correct a dislocated shoulder. There is a chance that Talbot may miss at least part of training camp, if not the start of the regular season. According to his agent, Talbot’s shoulder had been “popping in and out”.
Also, the Penguins’ Stanley Cup Championship DVD was premiered last night at a Pittsburgh theater and will be available for the public today. Hockeybuzz’ Brian Metzer and the boys at Pensblog were there in all their glory.
Nothing new on the free agency front, it’s expected the next signing for GM Ray Shero will be a veteran defenseman (such as Jay McKee), although a veteran backup goaltender is a possibility as well.
