Penguins Trade Tangradi to Jets for 7th Round Pick

This is another of those Jedi Shero moves that I have no idea how he does (although not nearly on the same plane as the Neal trade).
Tangradi was leaving the Penguins’ roster one way or another, wasn’t he? I mean, there was basically no way that he wasn’t getting waived or traded, right?
Somehow Shero convinces Winnipeg that they may as well throw something…ANYTHING their way to prevent the eight teams ahead of them in line from grabbing this kid off the waiver wire. I mean, it’s not even a conditional pick, but a guaranteed no-matter-what 7th-rounder… for the comfort of knowing that they wouldn’t have to worry the Islanders would get to Mr. Maybe-needs-a-change-of-Scenery first.
I mean, 7th-round picks are usually worthless (insert required Zetterberg reminder here), but he managed to at least turn losing this guy on waivers into a lottery ticket at the very worst.
