Crosby, Asham, Orpik Out Today for Preseason Finale at Detroit

The Penguins will play it safe in this afternoon’s preseason finale at Detroit, with Sidney Crosby (hip flexor), Arron Asham (upper-body) and Brooks Orpik (groin) all out of the lineup.  After today’s game, the Penguins will have three days of practice before Thursday’s much anticipated home opener vs. Philadelphia in the first regular season game at the Consol Energy Center.

Orprick’s injury isn’t a “groin” it’s called cowardice.
Amount of complete lack of respect for fellow NHL players during preseason has been appalling. Thanks bettman for turning our sport into excessive weak penalties called often and fighting is discouraged which frustatrates players into losing cool and doing crap like orpik did Franzen, Boogaard did to Neil and Cammalleri did to Niederreiter this preseason. Can’t forget Moen punching Gunbransson in face while zebras had his arms tied up, another preseason beauty.
Pat yourself on the back bettman/daly law firm.

Hey Tony, I know this is off subject, but how haw Mike Comrie fit in?  I had season tickets when he was at Michigan, so I got to see him play quite a bit.  While I know he’s got his limitations, I’ve always liked his grit and skill, and thought he could succeed on a winning team as an offensive role-player.

Before Modano became available, he was the guy I wanted the Wings to take a chance on to be our offensive 3rd line center for a $1M, 1 year deal.  That the Pens got him for $500K seems like a no-brainer of a risk-free move (assuming one of Malkin or Staal can actually play on the wing).

What are your thoughts?

Well, tough to judge on merely preseason, but he looks like a natural fit…. I really like the chemistry he’s quickly gotten on a line with Malkin… And I think he’s had like 4 goals already, mostly with good hands around the net….

So far, so good….
