Kudos to the Habs after a fantastic Game Seven and series win over the Penguins. Well-earned.
A post-mortem after a pathetic Penguins Game Seven effort will be posted in the next day or two.

So, as we were trying to tell you all summer, fall, and winter Pens fans, but you couldn’t hear us due to your arrogance, the Cup hangover is real, and it’s a bitch, and when it happens you have to ...
...awwww, forget it. Talk to you in the fall.

The Pens had a good season - nothing to be ashamed of. Losses make the eventual win all the sweeter. Next season they’ll have the best arena in the league.

So, um, what is it with Game 7’s at home? It’s supposed to be why you want a top seed, but it seems like the home team loses every time lately. You guys beat the Caps and Wings last year on the road, Montreal has won 2 road Game 7’s now, and the Wings beat Phoenix in Phoenix. It’s just really strange.

Congratulations to Montreal. They deserved to win this series through effort, intelligence, and a healthy dose of Halak.
If Pittsburgh had played fantastic hockey the entire season, it would have been a even harder and more bitter pill to swallow. I had hopes that our game would improve gradually, or be sufficient to reach the Conference final. Clearly, that wasn’t the case and the seventh game exemplified our shortcomings in painstaking detail.
Now it’s about enjoying the rest of the playoffs, and I look forward to that.

It’s a strange feeling, i almost feel like i can turn off a part of my brain now and enjoy the rest of the series’ without thinking what would work best for the Pens, or who matches up with them well (Not that it matters really, i thought the Habs were a good fit for them too).
I’ll be interested to see the turnover and who comes and goes, but am looking forward to watching some hockey now with some neutrality.
