Red and Black Hockey

Checkers to unveil new sweaters on draft day.

The Hurricanes, like every other team in the league, will be hosting a party on Friday June 25 in conjunction with the Entry Draft.  There’s nothing special or even interesting about the party.
On the same day, the Charlotte Checkers will be doing the same, but there is something interesting about that.  Since this is their inaugural season in the AHL and they have a new affiliation with the Hurricanes, they will need to change their existing uniforms and color scheme.  They will officially unveil the new sweaters at the draft party.  Details of that event are here
I won’t be attending either event, and I won’t even be able to watch the draft on teevee because of the Canadian indie rock that I love so much.  I’ll be keeping tabs, though.
