The Worcester Sharks played three road games last weekend, but only won one. Friday, their seven power plays went scoreless against the Springfield Falcons (AHL affiliates of the Blue Jackets). The Sharks killed seven of eight penalties. The lone goal for the Sharks was scored by Daniil Tarasov, with assists to Danny Groulx and Adam Comrie. It was Tarasov's fifth of the season. Harri Sateri made 27 saves on 29 shots. LW Tommy Grant and defenseman Denny Urban were second to Tarasov in shots on goal, with four each.
Saturday, the Sharks traveled to Glenns Falls to play the Adirondack Phantoms (AHL affiliate of the Flyers). They came away from that with a 3-2 win. They scored on one of their two power plays, and killed four of five penalties. Sharks goals were scored by Jon Matsumoto (PPG, Kearns, Urban), John McCarthy (Hamilton, Viedensky), and Freddie Hamilton (Groulx, McCarthy). Alex Stalock made 26 saves on 28 shots for the win.

At the arbitration filing deadline, T.J. Galiardi tried to make things a little interesting for Sharks fans. The matter will not go to arbitration, as yesterday Galiardi announced on Twitter that he had signed a contract. David Pollak confirmed that the contract is for one year.
I will also take the McCarthy and Matsumoto signings as confirmed despite no official word from San Jose. Add to those, from the same source:
@210Darryl: “I can confirm that the #WorSharks have signed Ferris State goaltender Taylor Nelson to a contract. He will likely play in ECHL this season.”
John McCarthy’s name appeared on the Sharks web roster a few days ago. Some days before that, Tim Kennedy’s turned up, though I could find no other mention anywhere that he had accepted the Sharks’ offer. Surely someone told the webmaster to add his name, so I guess we can consider him signed as well.

Monday, the Sharks confirmed that defenseman Matt Irwin and center Bracken Kearns had signed contracts for the upcoming season. They also announced that goalie Al Stalock has accepted their offer, and that they have signed defenseman Danny Groulx, who returns to North America after two seasons in the KHL. All those contracts are for one-year.
This evening, Lavoie tweeted out another Sharks signing, that of John McCarthy. I’m on record as being a fan of McCarthy, so I was very grateful to Mr. Lavoie for delivering this news. Since he was right about Kearns, I’ll believe him about this one too:
