Taylor Hall on After Hours

Taylor Hall has been upstaged by teammates throughout his short NHL career. In his first NHL game, Jordan Eberle scored “some goal” and stole the spotlight. And most recently when Hall had his first 4 point game, Sam Gagner went ahead and had 8. It doesn’t seem to bother Hall that much however, Hall cares more about wins than anything else. Taking a skate to the face during warmup, Hall wanted to get stitched up and return to the game. His helmet wouldn’t fit due to swelling, and he couldn’t see very well out of his left eye, but Hall wanted to play and help his team win.
Hall’s competitive and fearless game will put him in dangerous situations, but it will also change and keep games exciting. Because the Oilers game Saturday night against the Red Wings went to a shootout, the After Hours segment was kept short, but there was still opportunity enough to discuss Hall’s scary moment and the state of the team.
Part 1: Ryan Whitney once again pokes fun at a teammate, Hall shows his scar and discusses Gagner’s 8 point game.
Part 2: Ryan Whitney comes up once again and more on Sam Gagner
In case you don’t remember Eberle’s spotlight goal, here it is, along with Hall’s reaction:

I don’t think it’s a concern either. If nothing else, it’s a good thing that there are several players for the attention to be spread around to.

I wouldn’t worry about Hall being “shadowed” by Eberle’s and Gagner’s performance right now. Taylor will be putting up PLENTY of multi-point games in his bright future, well beyond Eberle and Gagner.
