It was very apparent through the entire Vancouver Canucks vs. Edmonton Oilers game on Hockey Night in Canada on Saturday, that Ryan Nugent-Hopkins has impressed more than just Oilers fans. Every time the panel would discuss the young centreman, it seemed as though each member was gushing over Nugent-Hopkins’ talent and what he has shown to this point.
Following the game, Nugent-Hopkins was the guest on After Hours with Scott Oakes and Darryl Reaugh. If you can hear through the crowd outside of the media booth, you can hear the calm responses of Nugent-Hopkins to a variety of twitter and general interest questions. There was even a special video question posed by Ryan from Boston who is apparently a big fan. It’s wonderful to see continued team bonding and the sense of humour that players like Whitney bring to the team.
Part 1 - A special video question
Part 2- More tweet questions and Ryan Whitney gets a mention
Nugent-Hopkins admits that in junior he was called Hoppy and in Edmonton it has been Nuge. There are some fans that are attempting to get other nicknames popular, such as Nuggets, but RNH and Nuge are likely here to stay.

About Oil Patch
Lisa McRitchie is a fairly new writer, online at least, but makes up for inexperience with passion for the game of hockey and memories of Mrs. Leskiw’s English AP class; who knew they would pay off one day.
Oil Patch focuses on the Edmonton Oilers, the Edmonton Oil Kings, The Oklahoma City Barons and Team Canada Hockey with game coverage, news updates, speculation and interviews.
Although the Oilers have had a difficult past decade… or three, here at Oil Patch, the future looks bright.
