MMike89, You Out There?  Time to Pony Up

Because I have a long memory, a well-developed sense of schadenfreude, and a bit of pent up anger of Niklas Kronwall’s injury last night, I want to point you all back to a conversation back on October the 9th that took place after the Pittsburgh Penguins beat the Philadelphia Flyers 5-4 in a game that featured a scrum in the final minutes during which Scott Hartnell allegedly bit Kris Letang’s finger.

The post can be found here.

Here is the particular exchange I want to point out between myself and a Flyers fan named MMike89. Mike begins by responding to a Penguins fan calling him jealous of their cup success:

MMike89 on 10/09/09 at 12:46 PM ET says:

“That was last year douche bag… not even the flyers would lose to the coyotes though… nice try”

My response on 10/09/09 at 12:54 PM ET:

“I’m going to save this for posterity just in case the Flyers/Coyotes game on November 21st doesn’t turn out quite the way you expect it to.”

To which MMike89 on 10/09/09 at 01:00 PM ET claimed:

“If that does happen I will apologize for saying anything bad towards the pens… and I am a man of my word.”

Well, last night the Phoenix Coyotes defeated the Philadelphia Flyers 3-1.  It may not be as bad as the 3-0 defeat they handed the Penguins back on October 7th, but the point remains that the Flyers lost to the Coyotes.

So, MMike89, care to remain a man of your word?
