The Islanders top line of Matt Moulson, John Tavares, and PA Parenteau has been stellar the last three games. Last night, in a 4-2 win over the New York Rangers, Tavares netted a hat trick and added an assist, Moulson added one goal and one assist, and Parenteau registered three helpers. Against the Rangers, the Islanders top line totaled nine points. The line also registered eight shots on goal and was a collective +6 on the night.

After three games, NY Islanders goalie Al Montoya sports a 2-1 record, a .953 save percentage, and a sparkling 1.35 GAA. For at least the time being, Montoya has cemented himself as the Isles #1 goaltender.

Islanders Rebound With A Win

The Islanders rebounded from a lackluster performance on Saturday night with a nice 2-1 effort against the Minnesota Wild yesterday afternoon. The team looked fired up and played a good, competitive hockey game. If the team plays the remaining 80 games with the energy they had on Monday afternoon and they stay healthy, the Isles are poised to make a run at the playoffs in the competitive Eastern Conference.

Brock Nelson was most certainly the star of the Islanders NCAA prospects this weekend. Nelson was named to the Ice Breaker all-tournament team after registering three points and leading the University of North Dakota to a second place finish.
