Edmonton Oilers’ captain Shawn Horcoff was the guest on after hours with Scott Oakes and Kevin Weekes Saturday night. Horcoff discusses that talent on his team, answers tweeted questions from fans and discusses his team’s chances to make the playoffs this season.
Part 1 – Discussing the Saturday night win and “we want 10”
Part 2 Playoff chances and talent on the team and much more
Part 3 Horcoff’s hockey path and more twitter questions
Through an interview like this, you can see how well spoken Horcoff can be and why he may be a good team captain. At the age of 33, Horcoff is one of the “older” players on the Oilers, but is not too old to remember what his first years in the league were like. This year Horcoff has 2 rookie centres under him, looking to learn tips of the trade. This is not the start of Horcoff’s exit, but rather the opportunity to take more pressure off of Horcoff in game situations. Of course the addition of Eric Belanger helps with that as well.

About Oil Patch
Lisa McRitchie is a fairly new writer, online at least, but makes up for inexperience with passion for the game of hockey and memories of Mrs. Leskiw’s English AP class; who knew they would pay off one day.
Oil Patch focuses on the Edmonton Oilers, the Edmonton Oil Kings, The Oklahoma City Barons and Team Canada Hockey with game coverage, news updates, speculation and interviews.
Although the Oilers have had a difficult past decade… or three, here at Oil Patch, the future looks bright.
