First song on a soundtrack to a losing streak

There will be a performance on the 25th at Nationwide when Columbus takes on Detroit. This have everything to do with ice hockey...

“I love those crazy things you make me do” What he’s talking about is paying to see Columbus lose.

Blue Jackets fans attending the Tuesday, Oct. 25 game vs. the Detroit Red Wings will be treated to a special musical performance by the band, Locksley, whose hit single, “The Whip,” is the team’s official goal celebration song. The band will perform live throughout the night from the Nationwide Fan Lounge located above section 117 in the lower level.

The four-man band that describes its musical style as “doo-wop punk” is currently on tour in support of its new album, the eponymous Locksley, released on the band’s own Feature Records label.

“We’re very excited to welcome Locksley and give our fans this unique opportunity to enjoy a live rendition of the team’s goal song,” said Derek Dawley, Columbus Blue Jackets Director of Game Operations and Event Presentation. “‘The Whip’ is a catchy song that lends itself to great fan participation and we look forward to adding the energy of Locksley’s live performance to our in-arena experience on Tuesday.”

Because this is Columbus, and nothing ever seems to go right for the franchise, I expect a shutout. That, of course, would make the eventual live playing of the goal song highly ironic. I feel bad for that franchise, yet I might be one of the many wings fans who make the drive to this game anyway because tickets are so available/cheap.

I feel bad for that franchise

Don’t they did it to themselves the past couple years by relying on a young goaltender to carry them to the post season. I’d be at the game if I thought there was a chance we’d win. I’m still debating on going to the game on the 25th. It would give me a chance to sport my Wisniewski jersey the day he comes back. I live a mile from Nationwide so maybe I’ll just goto the bar.

I’m hoping for a passionate game tonight. another 8-2 Jackets win perhaps?

I’m hoping Rick gets another hat trick in Joe Louis, that’d make for some sick fantasy points.
